Design subscriptions range from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands a month. The headline number only tells part of the story. Here’s what drives the price, and how to compare plans fairly.
The four price tiers
Most services fall into one of four bands:
- Budget, about $500 to $1,000 a month: graphics, social posts, and simple collateral
- Mid-tier, about $1,000 to $2,000 a month: stronger designers, some web design
- Senior, about $2,000 to $5,000 a month: product UI, websites, brand, and sometimes development
- Enterprise, quoted: dedicated creative teams on annual contracts
What changes the price
Three things matter most: seniority, scope, and capacity. Senior designers who can handle product UI cost more than production designers. Plans that include development cost more than design-only plans. And each extra active task adds capacity, and cost.
Weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly
Longer commitments usually come with a discount. At Reworq, a week costs $599, a month $2,499, quarterly billing $2,249 a month (10% off), and yearly billing $2,124 a month (15% off). A single week is a low-risk way to test the fit on a real task.
Add-ons
The most useful add-on is extra capacity. Reworq’s Speed up adds a second active task and priority queueing for $599 a month, so you can run two tasks in parallel during a launch and switch it off afterwards.
How to compare plans fairly
Compare the cost per active task, not just the headline price, and check whether development is included. A cheaper design-only plan plus a separate developer often costs more than one plan that covers both.
